Polish Want Troops Home

I was just listening to the BBC World Service [15190 kHz Shortwave], and they were saying that according to a nationwide poll in Poland, that the vast majority of Poles want their troops taken out of Iraq "immediately".

They followed up with an American from the right-wing/libertarian CATO Institute saying that it would be best if we do as well, because if we end up fighting a protracted war there, we not only encourage terrorism, but will probably be defeated.

It is rare that I agree with CATO people, but this guy was right on target.

Any fool can see that we will probably be defeated in Iraq. This is because we are fighting a war against an underground military fighting in a partisain guerilla operation that can last indefinitely. Will we have to learn the same lesson that the Soviets did?
